Bittersweet Christmas

Christmas is such a special time for so many people. For some of us the season reminds us of something bigger than ourselves, something magnificent and deeply spiritual. It’s a time to celebrate with family and friends, to be grateful for grace and love. But, for many it’s a time of sadness and loss. In our family we are celebrating this Christmas with two new babies added to our family and friend circle, but I am acutely aware that many other people are having to face this Christmas with fewer of their loved ones than the year before.

During the past year many people said farewell. Some went before us to prepare that special place where I hope we will all one day meet again, others moved away to greener pastures and far away countries.

So this is just a short note to encourage all of us to be extra grateful for who we are privileged enough to have with us during this season, and to spare a thought and a prayer for those who yearn for just one more Christmas with their loved one.

Love, peace, and blessings 🙂
